I first met and worked with Lee Nyquist about 30 years ago when we served together on the Bar Association’s Legislation Committee. He understands how the State House functions. In the years since, he has continued to serve the public at every opportunity. Lee is smart, caring, and ready to be an effective voice for us from day one.
Access to health care is important to me and will be a key issue in the next legislative session. Our current senator fought needed health care legislation, leaving residents without services. I know that Lee will take his detailed knowledge of the state legislature, and his relationships with the other State Senators to make Medicaid expansion (New Hampshire’s Health Protection Program) permanent. This vital program keeps almost 50,000 Granite State residents covered and provides essential substance abuse recovery funds to combat the opioid epidemic.
In contrast with our current senator, Lee also supports both funding for Planned Parenthood and a woman’s choice in healthcare.
Education and employment are other issues that Lee will work on in the Senate. He advocates promoting public education and keeping our community colleges affordable for working families. Lee knows that these policies, together with a living wage for an honest day’s work, are vital to the growth of our economy.
I urge that you support Lee Nyquist for State Senate in District 9 (includes Dublin, Fitzwilliam, Greenfield, Hancock, Jaffrey, Lyndeborough, Peterborough, Sharon, and Temple). He is a compassionate progressive Democrat with experience in both state and local government. He is the strong candidate we need to defeat our extreme Tea Party incumbent state senator. Lee will represent the values, priorities, and interests of our district.
