The town of Rindge has found its next town administrator.
The Select Board met with one of three finalists for the position on Friday, naming the candidate to the position shortly thereafter, according to board chair Robert Hamilton.
“We have made our decision and will announce our new town administrator after they have had a chance to meet with the department heads,” said Hamilton, who praised the new addition as someone who was “experienced and knowledgeable with a great background.”
Hamilton said the town hopes to bring the new town administrator in for a meeting with the department heads later this week.
The new administrator will work 30 hours per week, according to Hamilton.
Rindge has been looking for a new town administrator since previous town administrator Jane Pitt announced her resignation to the board in March.
In the interim, the Select Board, Finance Director Ellen Smith, and former Executive Secretary Katy Robbins, were picking up most of the slack of the position.
Hamilton said the town has also found an interim replacement for Robbins, whose last day was Friday. Joan Geary will take over as secretary while the town searches for a permanent replacement.
Geary will work 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, according to Hamilton. She will not close from 1 to 2 p.m., as had previously been the case for the position.
