Michael Redmond Jr., of Antrim, is the most recent Boy Scout of Troop 2 to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He is only the 24th to earn it in the troop’s 107-year history, his father and Scoutmaster Michael Redmond said. Redmond Jr. led a crew of fellow scouts, friends, and family in building a gaga ball pit at Memorial Park off Jameson Avenue in Antrim, overcoming the logistical challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the process. Only about four percent of Boy Scouts nationwide earn their Eagle Scout, Redmond said. Gaga ball is a variant of dodgeball that’s played in a pit.
