A Rindge woman has pleaded guilty to three charges after giving her sister’s name to police after being pulled over on a DWI charge in Keene in November.
Court records say Stefani P. Hall, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of DWI, false report to law enforcement, and disobeying an officer on Thursday at the Cheshire Superior Court.
She was sentenced to a $620 fine, nine-month license revocation, and was referred to an impaired driver care management program on the DWI charge, according to court records.
Hall was sentenced to 15 days in the Cheshire County jail with a two-day pretrial credit for the false report to law enforcement charge, and a 12-month prison sentence and a $620 fine – all suspended for three years – on the disobeying an officer charge.
Hall originally faced ten charges, including identity fraud, driving after revocation or suspension, DWI, open container violation, yellow/solid line violation, speeding, and possession of license required, but the others were dropped.
A police affidavit on file with the case said Hall was stopped by a state police officer on Nov. 11 around 3:19 a.m. in Keene.
Hall was exiting the Winchester Street rotary eastbound on Route 101, when she quickly accelerated her vehicle.
Police observed multiple infractions and pulled her over.
The officer immediately smelled the odor of alcohol when approaching the vehicle and noted Hall’s “glossy and bloodshot red” eyes.
Hall was unable to produce a license for police and wrote down the name and date of birth for Amanda Gallant, who was later found out to be her sister.
Police arrested Hall after she submitted to a number of field sobriety tests.
On Nov. 14, state police received an email from the state police’s fingerprinting department, which showed that Hall had given a false name to police at the time of her arrest.
