The acoustic instrumental and vocal quartet Off the Cuff will be the featured performer at the Parish Hall Open Stage tomorrow evening for First Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Church.
The band interprets somgs from the 1920s to the 21st century, incorporating elements of jazz, swing, blues, bluegrass, rock and world music styles into their own special blend of vocal and instrumental harmony.
Band members are Harry Lowenthal, flute, bongos, percussion; Pam Smith, guitar, harmonica, vocals; Jonas Taub, guitar, dobro, vocals; and Dan Wheeler, electric and upright bass.
The evening will open with an open stage of local, regional and out-of-state musicians. Spoken word artists also are well received. Any local or regional talent wishing to play on stage need only sign up by 7 p.m. Each artist customarily plays two or three songs before and after the feature.
Open mic acts arrive between 7 and 7:30 p.m. and sign-up at the entrance for a performance slot, or email as a sign-up by contacting jackkidmusic@gmail.com. The first three callers are guaranteed slots. All others sign up in person.
