The Franklin Pierce University men’s golf team played in the Dowling Memorial tournament at the par-71 Tall Grass Golf Course on Fridayand Saturday. They finished with a tie for third place at the two-day event, shooting a 301-304–605 (+37).
On Saturday’s second day, the Ravens finished with a 304 (+20) on the day. Leading the Ravens was senior Travis Landry, who shot a 74 (+3), up two strokes from Friday, when he shot 72 (+1). Overall, Landry fired a 146 (+4) for the weekend to finish in a three-way tie for fifth.
Sophomore Taylor Simpson tied for 23rd after shooting 77 (+6) on Saturday, just one stroke more than Friday’s 76 (+5), for a two-day total of 153 (+11).
Also tied for 23rd was sophomore Tom Arisco ), who ended the weekend with 153 strokes for a +11. He shot 78 (+7) the first day and cut off three strokes on the second day, with a 75 (+4).
Tied for 30th was junior Ben French, who shot 154 (+12). He put together a 78 (+7) on the first day and a 76 (+5) on day two.
Senior Nick Adjutant ( tied for 35th place by shooting 77 (+6) Saturday, and shot 78 (+7) on Friday, for an overall of 155 (+13) after the two days.
The Ravens return to the course this weekend at the Mike Bello Invitational, hosted by Le Moyne at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, New York.
