Dublin’s Select Board will need another couple weeks to make a decision on painting the town hall, as they will ask questions to one of the bidding companies.
No decisions were made at last Monday’s Select Board meeting, according to draft meeting minutes provided by Town Administrator Sherry Miller. The board will ask a few questions to the lowest bidder, Stebbins, before making a decision.
Three companies bid for the project: Stebbins, S&C and Target New England, with the latter two each bidding $24,000 to Stebbins’ $22,500. Target New England was the only bid to include repairs.
ZBA member Susan Phillips-Hungerford gave a letter to the board from chair Susan Peters, expressing the ZBA’s concerns with the recently formed postage policy. The board explained the policy and said that all letters would be handled in a timely manner.
Lisa Foote approached the board to talk about how costs are shared between the archives and the town. The Historical Society is responsible for paying half of all operating expenses and the town is to cover maintenance and repairs, according to an agreement.
It was agreed that the town would pay for the boiler recertification.
The board met with Dublin’s ConVal School Board representative Bernd Foecking who spoke about students from outside school districts being able to attend school in the ConVal School District.
Foecking, according to meeting minutes, said that students can apply to come into the district and if approved, pay 30-percent tuition to attend a ConVal school. If special needs are present, Foecking said there would need to be a conversation between the two districts to determine who would pay those costs.
Foecking also said he would confirm whether there would be a fifth grade at Dublin Consolidated School, as he thought that was the case, but Selectmen had heard that there were three fifth graders left.
