National trust and integrity

When Canada’s Mark Carney speaks about the importance of national trust and integrity, he is defining values and aspirations that resonate with me. Despite Trump’s tariffs and verbal harassment, Canada is becoming a stronger more united country. Carney has intelligently and quickly diversified trade away from the US and permanently turned to reliable trading partners.
The U.S. is no longer trusted in the world as an ally. It breaks treaties, flouts international laws and starts wars. Its integrity is questioned every day as corruption and greed emerge as the underlying values of Trump’s drive to dislodge our democracy. To hear Trump speak, it is not hard to question his intelligence, sanity and his underhanded allegiance to our country. He is all about making money for himself. He does not care about the economic chaos he has unleashed worldwide.
Republicans in New Hampshire and across this country have been complicit in aiding Trump’s agenda. They have gerrymandered state districts and made voting more difficult. They have harassed Americans by funding the secret police ICE and a shameful string of concentration camps. And they have encouraged a relentless barrage of lawless partisan projects such as the East Wing ballroom fiasco.
Be determined to vote on Nov. 3. Participate. The results need to be so clear and overwhelming that there is no question about who won when our representatives are seated in New Hampshire and Congress.
People around the world are watching this election. Has our nation finally come to its senses, or has it sunk further into a very deep and troubling abyss?
