Voters deserve accurate information

Voters in Rindge, Dublin, and Jaffrey deserve election information grounded in facts. A postcard paid for by the New Hampshire State Republican Committee and mailed to residents in the towns claims that “Democrats just filed to tax what you earn and what you buy.” Such a sweeping accusation deserves scrutiny. What legislation does it refer to, and what connection does that legislation have to the Democratic candidates running in our district? Voters deserve specific answers, not misinformation.

Allen Davis, Rory Lovett, and Tom Hsu, the Democratic candidates for the New Hampshire House of Representatives in our district, deserve to be judged on their own policy proposals. I support their commitment to improving the lives of New Hampshire residents through fiscally responsible policies.

Political disagreements are expected, but misinformation that provokes fear does little to help voters evaluate candidates. Those seeking to represent our communities should explain their policies clearly and accurately describe their opponents’ positions. I urge voters to examine the candidates’ actual positions and choose representatives who will honestly serve the best interests of our communities.
