A new Revolutionary War monument will be dedicated Saturday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. on the South Lyndeborough Memorial Common.
Keynote speaker Brigadier General Allen Aldenburg, Associate Adjutant General Commander of the N.H. Army National Guard, will address the ceremony. Victoria Gilbeau, a student at Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative High School, will perform the National Anthem.
Additional participants include Milford Rotary Club President Tom Young, Monuments Committee Chairman Mark Chamberlain, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution Josiah Crosby Chapter, and resident veteran Art Napolitano, who will play Taps.
Formed in 2024 to plan Lyndeborough’s observance of the Declaration of Independence semiquincentennial, the Monuments Committee established the memorial after discovering the town lacked a monument honoring its more than 200 Revolutionary War veterans. Peterborough Marble and Granite Company created the structure.
