Firelight Theater Workshop’s spring play, “Small Mouth Sounds” by Bess Wohl opened to a sold-out crowd on Saturday, May 9, at the Firelight Studio in Peterborough.
Firelight co-executive director and co-artistic director Nora Fiffer notes that Wohl was just awarded the Pulitzer Prize for her play “Liberation.”
“We are just thrilled to be working with one of Bess Wohl’s incredible plays,” Fiffer said.
Small Mouth Sounds, which is both a comedy and a drama, tells the story of six “troubled souls” who come together for a week-long silent retreat and must find a way to communicate and connect without words.
The play poses the question, “How do you speak your mind when you can’t say a word?”
The play runs Thursdays through Saturdays until June 7. Firelight will host a fundraising dinner at Post and Beam Brewery in Peterborough followed by a special performance on Wednesday night, June 3.
