Despite rain and chilly temperatures, anglers still reeled in plenty of fish and smiles during the 36th Annual Loran B. Hanson Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 2, on Gulf Road in Peterborough.

Young fishermen competed for the top catches of the day, with rainbow trout dominating the leaderboard.

Dylan Weeks, 4, earned first place with an 18.25-inch rainbow trout.

Declan Durgin, 11, took second place with a 17.25-inch rainbow trout.

Gavin Crouthamel, 10, placed third with a 16.5-inch rainbow trout.

The annual derby continues to draw families and community members together each spring, celebrating youth fishing and outdoor recreation despite less-than-ideal weather conditions.
