Atlas Fireworks has announced the acquisition of Sparks Fly Fireworks, a Chichester-based fireworks company.

Sparks Fly Fireworks owner Don Peterman recently announced his retirement from the business, after 19 years.

“The Atlas family extends its warmest well-wishes to Mr. Peterman and expresses deep gratitude for his many years of commitment to providing quality consumer
fireworks to the central New Hampshire region,” said Atlas CEO Steve Pelkey in a press release issued Thursday.

Atlas Fireworks, with locations in Rindge, Amherst, Belmont and Newport, is a fourth-generation family business selling commercial fireworks and producing fireworks displays. Now, the Chichester store will be joining the ranks.

The press release said Atlas Fireworks is revitalizing the Chichester showroom with updated branding and improving customer experience. The grand opening of the store under the Atlas brand is scheduled for April 1.

โ€œAs Atlas celebrates over 75 years in the pyrotechnic entertainment business, we look forward to gaining the confidence, loyalty and trust of Sparks Fly customers and welcome all to the Atlas Fireworks Family during this historic year, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America,โ€ said Pelkey.
