A New Ipswich man and Rindge woman were arrested on burglary charges, with police accusing them of breaking into units at a self-storage facility in Winchendon and stealing valuable items.
The Winchendon Police Department arrested Lee Bertram, 37, of New Ipswich and Jeannette Marie Tyler, 56, of Rindge, who were arraigned in Winchendon District Court on Sept. 21.
Police charged each of them with one count of conspiracy, six counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, six counts of breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony and one count of possession of burglarious instruments.
The charges stem from two separate incidents: one on Sept. 12 between 12:23 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., according to Winchendon police, and the second on Sept. 14 between 8:44 a.m. and 10:22 a.m. During both incidents, authorities said, Tyler and Bertram allegedly broke into units at Winchendon Self Storage and stole several items. Several of the stolen items have been recovered, according to police, along with additional property suspected to be stolen.
They are next scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 16.
Police also suspect Tyler and Bertram of being involved with self-storage burglaries in Marlborough, Greenville and Peterborough. That investigation is ongoing with additional charges possible.
