Risking our representatives
Peterborough and Sharon could lose a quarter-century of faithful representation under Peter Leishman. He has been on the Finance Committee for 18 years. Jonah Wheeler has represented us for the past four years. He was on the Criminal Justice Committee and now serves on the Environment and Agriculture committees.
Primary and recount votes both elected Peter and Jonah. The Democratic Party backs the elected candidates. Continuing with a write-in can divide the party, and we could end up losing both Peter and Jonah, having only Republican representation, or losing one of them – but which one?
Have you followed or checked their votes and reasoning for the yes or no responses? Are you a voter who only wants to follow a fringe vote while sacrificing the dire problems facing all of us? Corporate controls, high cost of healthcare, unruly gasoline and grocery costs, struggling to live on inadequate paychecks or Social Security, unaffordable renting or homeownership, consolidated dental and veterinary providers getting out of reach, more than 60 million dollars a year out of public education for homeschooling (no monitoring), charter schools, religious schools and private schools. And mothers do not earn enough money to pay for childcare.
Whether a Democrat, Republican or undeclared, we need to retain these two state representatives in our New Hampshire House. They have a record of voting for our interests. It’s impossible to find a candidate you totally agree with on every issue. Let’s not sacrifice our representatives and the political rule that whoever wins the primary is the one who has won.
