Peterborough Town Library Returns Fall Storytime Schedule
The Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., Peterborough, has returned its storytime programs for the fall.
Weekly sessions running through October include Preschool Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3–6, Baby Storytime on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for infants through active toddlers, and Toddler Time on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 1.5–3.
Monthly sessions include Saturday Storytimes for all ages on the last Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 26, Oct. 31, and Nov. 28. Rabbit Storytimes take place the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. on Oct. 1 and Nov. 5, featuring a story, craft, and a visit with a live rabbit.

NHWPCA to Host Free Documentary Screening, Panel Discussion in Peterborough
The New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association will host a free public screening of the documentary “Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong” on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Peterborough Theater.
The film examines the operations, challenges, and importance of wastewater treatment facilities and water infrastructure.
Following the screening, members of the water and wastewater industry will lead a 30-minute panel discussion. Topics will include the workforce behind water infrastructure, community challenges, emergency preparedness, and the future of the profession.
“Twilight Lullabies” Music Showcase Set for Oct. 17 in Wilton
The Hidden Gem will host “Twilight Lullabies,” a live music performance featuring New England musicians Savoir Faire, Lynda Mandolyn, and Darling Hill, on Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at 33 Howard St., Wilton. Doors open at 7 p.m.
The event showcases Massachusetts-based jazz-rock artist Savoir Faire, Maine-based solo musician Lynda Mandolyn, and New Hampshire-based indie-noir act Darling Hill.

Peterborough Town Library Announces October Author Talks
The Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., Peterborough, will host two upcoming author events as part of its “Peterborough Presents” fall series.
Author Susan Bischak will discuss her 2026 memoir, “Healing a Desperate Heart,” on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. She will share her approach to releasing past emotional baggage using Eastern healing traditions, shamanism, and metaphysics.
Author Greta Nettleton will present her 2014 book, “The Quack’s Daughter: A True Story About the Private Life of a Victorian College Girl,” on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The book details the life and diary of her great-grandmother, a 1880s Vassar student raised by a patent medicine businesswoman.

“Adam’s Apple” to Screen Oct. 4 at Monadnock International Film Festival
The documentary “Adam’s Apple,” directed by New Hampshire-based filmmaker Amy Jenkins, will make its state premiere on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. at The Showroom in Keene as part of the 14th Annual Monadnock International Film Festival.
The 98-minute film offers a collaborative look at gender transition and adolescence through the perspectives of a transgender teen, Adam, and his mother. A 30-minute post-screening Q&A with Jenkins will be moderated by Reed Piscopo.

NOVA Arts to Host Artist Residency Meet-and-Greet, Roger Clark Miller Concert
NOVA Arts will host two events in October at its Keene location in collaboration with local organizations and partners.
Craig Pleasants, the Social Practice Artist Residency artist in residence, will appear for a free meet-and-greet on Oct. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees can view his work and speak with him.
On Oct. 2, multi-instrumentalist and Mission of Burma founder Roger Clark Miller will perform with Rick Maguire, lead singer of the indie rock band Pile. Doors open at 7 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m. The concert is presented in collaboration with the Monadnock International Film Festival, following a 6 p.m. screening of “Not a Photograph: The Mission of Burma Story” at the Showroom.

Kenny Chesney Tribute Band to Perform Oct. 3 at The Park Theatre
The Redneck Castaway Band will perform a tribute to Kenny Chesney on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Eppes Auditorium at The Park Theatre, 19 Main St., Jaffrey.
Formerly known as the No Shoes Nation Band, the six-piece group recreates the country star’s live shows with guitar, keyboards, pedal steel, fiddle, and harmonies. The performance features Chesney’s hit catalog, including “Don’t Blink,” “Boston,” “There Goes My Life,” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”

Peterborough Folk Music to Present Peter Mulvey Oct. 4 in Harrisville
Peterborough Folk Music will present veteran singer and songwriter Peter Mulvey in concert on Sunday, Oct. 4, at a private residence in Harrisville. The address will be provided in the ticket confirmation email.
A potluck begins at 5:45 p.m., followed by the concert at 6:30 p.m. Doors open 15 minutes before each time.
Mulvey began his career busking on the streets of Dublin, Ireland, and in the subways and streets of Boston, Massachusetts, before launching an international touring career in the early 1990s.

Peterborough Folk Music to Present The Steel Wheels Oct. 24
Peterborough Folk Music will present Virginia-based folk-rock band The Steel Wheels on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at The Park Theatre in Jaffrey. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., followed by a 30th Anniversary video screening at 6:45 p.m.

Filmmaker Deborah Stratman to Speak at MacDowell Downtown
Artist and filmmaker Deborah Stratman will present short films and clips from her work as part of MacDowell Downtown on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Town Library.
Stratman, a four-time MacDowell fellow and associate professor at the University of Illinois Chicago, will share selections from her collection of 44 documentary and experimental films, which explore power, belief, and environment.

Downtown Peterborough First Friday Event Set for Oct. 2
Merchants and organizations across downtown Peterborough and Depot Square will host a townwide First Friday event on Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., with select activities continuing later in the evening.
The event features late shopping hours, special offers, open houses, and live performances. Live outdoor music by the Brian Murphy Duo will take place in Depot Square in front of Baker’s Station from 5 to 7 p.m. (moving to the Mariposa Museum in case of rain). Participating locations include Blue Fern Gallery, Granite Block Art and Antiques, Hearth Magick, Joseph’s Coat featuring saxophonist Michael Wakefield, Meshugenah Hat Company, MAXT Makerspace, Monadnock Academy of Movement Arts, and Peterborough Town Library.
