Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will offer insights on the Russia-Ukraine conflict during the Amos Fortune Forum on Friday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Jaffrey Center Meetinghouse.
Yovanovitch, a veteran diplomat with a 33-year Foreign Service career, served as U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine from 2016 to 2019. She also held ambassadorial posts in Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, and served in diplomatically critical roles in Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Somalia, and Washington, D.C.
During the presentation, Yovanovitch will draw from her experience in both Russia and Ukraine to discuss the historical roots and future trajectory of the conflict, as well as its implications for democracy globally. A question-and-answer session with attendees will follow her talk.
Yovanovitch is the author of the best-selling memoir “Lessons from the Edge”. She currently serves as a non-resident fellow at Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of Diplomacy and as a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
The event is part of the Amos Fortune Forum’s 2026 summer speaker series.
