Community members who missed summer donation days will have another opportunity to donate gently used books to the Friends of the Jaffrey Library on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Volunteers will be available from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room, located on the main level of the Jaffrey Public Library, to accept items to restock the group’s ongoing book sales.
Organizers are seeking recent fiction and non-fiction titles in good condition, free of writing, tears, or stains. The library cannot accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, or outdated medical, financial, and computer books.
Proceeds from the book sales serve as the primary fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, supporting community programs and services such as genealogical database access and mobile Wi-Fi hotspots. Dedicated volunteers refresh the library’s two sale displays—located on the main and lower levels—on a weekly basis.
Donations are strictly accepted on the second Saturday of each month. Donors are asked not to drop off items with library staff or leave them in the outside book return slots.
