Bonita Springs, FL – Allen A. Leach, 84, of Bonita Springs, FL, and formerly of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 19, 2026, in Bonita Springs, FL, after a courageous battle against illness.
Allen was born on May 1, 1942, in Jaffrey, NH, the son of the late Paul and Lucy Pomponio Leach. He graduated from Conant High School in 1960 and earned his degree in Education from Keene State College and went on to receive his Masters in Mathematics from University of New Hampshire. He also earned a certificate in Advance Engineering Study at the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He began his professional career as a mathematics teacher at Hinsdale High School, were he also coached their baseball team to several state championships.
He then transitioned from education to engineering and production as he worked along with his father at Jaffrey Fire Protection. He then went on to work for D.D. Bean & Sons and W.W. Cross Company. In addition to his professional pursuits, he proudly served as a firefighter for the Town of Jaffrey, a role that exemplified his commitment to serving his community and one that remained a source of great pride throughout his life.
During summers in junior high and high school in Jaffrey, Allen met the love of his life, Susan. Their enduring partnership spanned 61 years of marriage, during which they built a life centered on love, community, generosity, friends, and family.
Allen found great enjoyment on the golf course and was an enthusiastic golfer throughout his life. He was a member of the Shattuck Golf Course since its inception in 1991. After retirement he found the perfect location for winter golf at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club in Estero, FL where he played some of the best golf of his life with the dearest of friends which he enjoyed getting to know and considered them part of his family.
He also had a deep affection for all his lifetime friends from childhood, college and beyond. He was known a fun-loving, loyal and dependable and whose generosity, kindness, and quiet strength earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. And in his final year at American House in Bonita Springs, FL, he was well-known and warmly loved as a friend.
In addition to his parents, Allen was predeceased by his beloved wife, Susan Ellison Leach and his cherished brother Peter Leach.
Allen is survived by his brother James and wife Sandra Hazelton Leach of San Francisco, CA, his loving daughters, Samantha Leach Deschenes of Mooresville, NC; and his grandchildren, Brady Deschenes and Cooper Deschenes; Cassandra Leach and her husband, Charles Saunders of Jaffrey, NH, and his loving and devoted friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His service will be held Saturday, August 1st at 11 a.m. at The United Church in Jaffrey.
