Friends and family of Eric Tenney gathered in front of Antrim Town Hall to donate a granite bench commemorating the Tenneys’ long legacy in the town of Antrim.
“He used to spend hours sitting right here,” said Tenney’s daughter, Christa Salamy.
Tim Morehead of the Antrim Lions Club, who organized the event, thanked the crowd that came to remember Tenney and recognize his long service to the town.
“I think he served on about every committee we have in town, including the Select Board,” Morehead said.
Salamy said her father taught her that “living in a small town, you have to give back.”
The bench was funded by donations from the community.
Members of the Antrim Select Board, lifelong friends, former employees, fellow committee members and volunteers, and family members shared memories of Tenney, and in particular, his deep love for the town of Antrim.
“He just loved it so much,” Salamy said. “He just wanted to be here.”
