The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and N.H. State Parks will host the 20th annual Monadnock Trails Week from Sept. 10-14, marking a milestone that coincides with the Forest Society’s 125th anniversary.
The annual trail stewardship event, launched in 2006, aims to protect, improve and promote hiking trails in the Monadnock region.
Volunteers of all experience levels are invited to participate for one or all five days of the event, which runs daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Conservation professionals and experienced crew leaders will guide volunteers, provide tools and safety gear, and match participants to projects based on experience and hiking preferences.
The registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 21. Volunteers can sign up online at forestsociety.org/mtw.
Children ages 13 to 15 may participate if accompanied by an adult guardian, while teenagers ages 16 and 17 require a signed parental permission waiver. For more information, contact Laurel Swope-Brush at lswopebrush@forestsociety.org.
