The Peterborough Lions Club will host its 22nd annual Duck Race on Saturday, June 27, to raise funds for local vision assistance programs and community charities.
The event kicks off at 2 p.m. when the rubber ducks enter the Nubanusit River at Putnam Park. The race will conclude downstream at Depot Square Park, where several prizes will be awarded, including a $1,000 grand prize for the winning duck.
Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20. They can be purchased in advance at the Peterborough Town Clerkโs Office and Peterborough Camera, Copies & More. Last-minute tickets will also be available on race day at Depot Square Park until 1:45 p.m.
All proceeds from the event support the Lions Club’s mission to provide eye screenings, exams, and eyeglasses to those in need. Funds also benefit several area organizations, including End 68 Hours of Hunger, the Peterborough Food Pantry, the Monadnock Early Learning Center and Davidโs House.
