LeClair was selected from multiple nominations praising her support for patients during difficult and vulnerable moments. One nominator credited LeClair with helping them navigate mental health concerns following childbirth and providing guidance that had a lasting impact.

The DAISY Award is an international program recognizing nurses for exceptional patient care. The award was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of an autoimmune disease, to honor nurses who make a significant difference in patients’ lives.

Pam Neal, also a registered nurse in the Birthing Suite, received honorable mention. One nominator wrote that Neal’s assessment and guidance prompted a family to seek immediate care for their newborn, leading to life-saving treatment.

Other nominees included Brianna Blake, Darlene Boots, John Curran, Scott Galeucia, Trish Harper-Lentricchia, Donna Infante, Elaine Keenan, Angela Milano, Meliea Miller, Laura Moran, Derek Moffett, Sarah Neal, Janece Shultz, Samantha Seppala, Aleyah Vaillancourt and Sarah Valentin.

During the ceremony, nominees received DAISY pins and certificates. LeClair also received the DAISY Award’s Healer’s Touch sculpture, a hand-carved work from Zimbabwe symbolizing the relationship between nurses and patients.
