The Concord Museum will host a performance reading of “Walt Whitman’s American Dream,” a biographical play by Sarah Vander Schaaff, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23.
Directed by Brendon Fox, artistic director of the Peterborough Players, the play explores the life and poetic voice of Walt Whitman, featuring key historical figures such as Concord’s Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The performance is touring nationally as part of the country’s semiquincentennial celebrations.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for a courtyard cocktail reception included with admission. Tickets are available on the Concord Museum website.
