Here We Go
An arch in honor of the 47th president. Trump, who had bone spurs and no military service, is honoring himself outside Arlington National Cemetery. A large white arch with gold embellishments gathers the focus, never mind the graveyard of our brave military. From his grandfather to his sons, none have been military men. It is an arch for his ego, not deserved, and a distraction from the lives lost by our brave military members.
Workers will work 20 hours a day to complete this project before his term ends. A ballroom, a massive cage on the front lawn honoring his 80th birthday and how many more expenditures not pleasing to our eyes will be built in honor of one man’s view of himself. How much of our tax money will pay for these ridiculous expenditures?
Who is responsible for someone being greedy with unnecessary expenses? Hits on small boats, attacking Venezuela and Iran, supporting Israel in its war, sitting on the edge with Ukraine, playing patty-cake with China over Taiwan, and what else is stewing? We have not recently heard about Greenland, Canada, Mexico and Cuba. All these desires are going after others, while here we endure high food prices, gas prices, electric bills and expensive automobile repairs or new vehicles, underfunded public schools, expensive medical plans, increased property taxes, and the list continues. Increased prices or not finding what we need or want do not matter to the rich, while the president says he is not concerned with our economic situation.
Expensive buildings and monuments will not distract from the needs of the people and the cost put on the backs of our citizens for one man’s glory. They are not built for the good of the country or well-deserved historical remembrance.
