Hancock Town Library will host a Juneteenth program at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17.
Participants will learn about the history of Juneteenth, including what happened on June 19, 1865, and why June 19 is now a federal holiday. The program also will include a discussion of books centered on Black history. Participants may briefly discuss a book for up to five minutes.
Those who plan to speak about a book may email Amy at hancocklibrary@comcast.net with โJuneteenthโ in the subject line.
