Monadnock Community Hospital honored local emergency medical service providers during its annual EMS Celebration Dinner, recognizing first responders from across the region for their dedication to patient care and public service.


Held at the Monadnock Country Club during EMS Week, the event brought together EMTs, paramedics and fire and rescue personnel for an evening of appreciation and awards.
โOur collaboration is essential to caring for our community, and we are proud to work alongside each of you,โ Chief Medical Officer Dr. Daniel Perli said during the event. โYou are often the first on the scene, providing critical care when it matters most.โ
The Lauren Morton Award for Excellence in EMS was presented to Capt. Meghan Bedard of the Hancock Fire Department. The award honors EMS providers who demonstrate exceptional clinical skill, leadership and compassion. Established in memory of Physician Assistant and Assistant EMS Medical Director Lauren Morton, the award recognizes individuals who make meaningful contributions to their departments and communities.
The EMS Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Chief Ed Walker of Peterborough Fire and Rescue in recognition of more than four decades of service in fire protection, emergency management and EMS.
โSince 2014, Ed has led Peterborough Fire and Rescue with professionalism, integrity and an unwavering commitment to this community,โ Deputy Chief Brian Wall said. โHis compassion for patients, his dedication to people, and his commitment to this department will leave a lasting impact.โ
Walker is set to retire in July.
The evening concluded with remarks from EMS Coordinator Michael Greenough, who thanked EMS professionals for their continued service throughout the Monadnock region.
