Main Street Cheese, LLC will host a two-part community discussion series on food systems at the Hancock Library on May 20 and May 27.

The series, titled โ€œOur Food System and This Moment: Crises and Solutions in Agriculture for Our Lives,โ€ will run from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. The events are free and open to the public, though registration is encouraged.

The sessions will explore how issues such as inflation, political division, war, economic inequality and corporate consolidation intersect with agriculture and the broader food system. Organizers said the discussions will also examine how agricultural practices and food policy can help address these challenges.

Sarah Gilliatt of Main Street Cheese will lead the sessions, which will include presentations, interactive exercises and group conversation. Local bread and cheese will be provided. Attending both sessions is encouraged but not required.
