Peterborough town elections are Tuesday, May 12, at the Peterborough Town House. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Peterborough has only one contested race this year, for the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The current chair, Christopher Di Loreto; incumbent Daniel Latini; and Lisa Stone, who currently serves on the Planning Board, are all running for ZBA.

Incumbent Tyler Ward, Chair of the Select Board, is running unopposed.

Budget Committee

Name:  Mary Clark

Age:  70

Position Sought:  Budget Committee Member

Relevant experience:  Peterborough Budget Committee 2022 – 2026;  35-plus years of experience with budgets, procurements, and contracts at the state and federal levels.

Why are you running:  To work collaboratively with the Select Board, town departments, and fellow Budget Committee members on town budgets that provide quality services at reasonable costs.

What is your most important issue:  To help town residents understand the tax impact of budget recommendations.

Relevant experience: B.A. U Mass, MBA, Salem State University, Former Board Member, President and CEO of Energy Credit Union f/k/a Boston Gas Employees Credit Union, Former Board Member and Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corporation, Former Assistant Treasurer of Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, Former Adjunct Faculty at North Shore Community College and the American Institute of Banking.

Why are you running? I feel itโ€™s important to give back to the community in which you live and I believe my background would be beneficial to the committee.

What is your most important issue? To ensure that the townโ€™s budget is sufficient to meet the needs of the community while providing the best possible services to all.

Relevant experience: Retired trust officer, securities analyst, investment manager

Why are you running? I recently moved to Peterborough and would like to make a contribution to my new community in an area in which I have expertise.

 What is your most important issue? Making sure that taxpayers get the most for their money and that town staff are well supported.

Select Board

Name: Tyler Ward

Age: 58

Position Sought: Peterborough Select Board

Relevant experience:  I have served on the Select Board for the past 12 years with compassion and dedication while fulfilling the duties and liaison responsibilities along with the Master Plan Steering Committee, Conservation Commission, Heritage Commission, Planning Board, Library Trustees, Recreation Committee, and Recycling Center Advisory Committee over the years.

Why are you running? No work is truly ever finished. Peterborough has had a long list of infrastructure needs that Town Administration has been addressing over the past decade. 

What is your most important issue:  The operating budget we are voting on this year is flat, zero tax increase. Town administration should be commended. It took years to get here.

Zoning Board of Adjustment

Christopher DiLoreto is running for the Planning Board.

Why are you running? To continue this act of public service, using my expertise and experience to provide a high level of service, fairness, and justice to the citizens of this town. 

What is your most important issue? Ensuring that everyone gets a fair shake, no matter what.

Age: 44

Position sought: ZBA

Relevant experience: I have over eight years of experience in the private land development sector. I have also served as an active board member for three years, including two years as Vice Chair.

Why are you running? I am running to continue my service to the town and the community.

What is your most important issue? I believe in maintaining an unbiased voice on the board to review all applications as fairly as possible, regardless of the topic or issue.

Why are you running?  I love this community and serving on this committee is what I can do to continue to support its continued success.  

What is your most important issue? Supporting the property owners in our community with fairness and kindness.

Name: Jason Moore
Age: 44
Position Sought: Peterborough Planning Board

Relevant Experience: Licensed Architect with over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial design, with a focus on projects that respond to and integrate with the local environment. Principal Architect at Christopher P. Williams Architects, with extensive experience in zoning analysis, land use, and site planning. Regularly works with local and state regulations, including planning boards and permitting processes across New Hampshire.

Why are you running? To bring practical, design-based perspective to planning decisions, support thoughtful growth, and help ensure development aligns with Peterboroughโ€™s character and long-term sustainability.

What is your most important issue? Balancing responsible growth with preservation of community character, while improving clarity and consistency in zoning and planning processes for residents, boards, and applicants.
