Endorsement for two ZBA Candidates

I am writing to urge Peterborough residents to vote for Christopher DiLoreto and Daniel Latini for the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA). Both are current members of the ZBA; Chris is Chair and Dan is Vice Chair. Both have conscientiously and diligently served our community.

Having been on the ZBA with both Chris and Dan for a number of years, I believe I can speak about their commitment and independence in addressing cases before the board. They actively engage in asking questions, clarifying issues, and ensuring that required criteria are considered. Both Chris and Dan listen carefully to applicants, abutters and concerned citizens. They have done their jobs well and deserve to be reelected. Please support them when you vote.

A third candidate for the ZBA is Lisa Stone, who is also running for the Planning Board, on which she currently serves. Although one member of the Planning Board is also allowed to serve on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, conflicts of interest may arise when a case appears before both boards, which is a concern of mine. Both boards also serve very different functions, which is why I do not support having the same person on both boards at the same time.

Please understand that my endorsement of Christopher DiLoreto and Daniel Latini is merely my personal opinion as a town citizen and town voter. It does not in any way represent a position by the ZBA itself because town boards themselves do not weigh in on candidates, either for or against.

Above all, please remember to vote on Tuesday, May 12. Note that voting will be held in the Upper Hall of the Town House, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day. A Sample Ballot can be found on the Town Website.
