A young driver and his dog walked away from a rollover crash in Sharon on Wednesday, April 19, according to police.

At 7:43 p.m., Peterborough Fire and Rescue and the Peterborough Police Department were dispatched to an area near 548 Route 123 in Sharon. EMS responders evaluated the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, but he had no serious injuries and did not require transport.

“The driver was heading north, went off the roadway, hit the embankment, and rolled the vehicle,” said Peterborough Police Chief Ed Walker. “The driver’s dad came and picked him up, and fortunately, neither he nor his dog were injured.

Steven’s Towing and Recovery recovered the vehicle. Route 123 was closed to one lane alternating traffic while the accident was cleared away.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
