Downtown Peterborough will celebrate the arrival of May with its First Friday event on May 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. and later, featuring shopping, live music, art exhibits and family-friendly activities.
Local merchants in Depot Square and along Main and Grove streets will stay open late, offering special promotions, refreshments and Mother’s Day gift ideas.
Live music will be featured throughout the evening, including a performance by Off the Cuff Band at the Mariposa Museum. The Blue Fern Gallery will host an open house with artwork from more than 18 artists and additional live music.
Other activities include open houses at local businesses, artist meet-and-greets, demonstrations at the MAXT makerspace, and a presentation by the Peterborough Players previewing their upcoming summer season.
