Addison, ME – Michael Elkavitch was born 6/13/52 in Brockton, MA and died 4/21/26 in Portland, ME.
He was a smart and witty person who was passionate about his family and his friends as well as animals, fishing, models, trains and history. He loved camping and he and wife Diana would take off in a camper van with their dogs to explore parts of Maine and Atlantic Canada. He was equally passionate about his career as a science educator, teaching in schools in Colorado and New Hampshire, where he taught at the Dublin School and the Conval School District. After retirement he and Diana moved to one of their favorite parts of Maine where he became an active volunteer.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Diana, and his cousins Vicki and Katherine Lukas of Exeter NH. There are no services planned but anyone wishing to make a donation may do so to The Ark Pope Memorial Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, ME where he was on the Board.
