Pianist Jacqueline Schwab will present โ€œMaking Magic with Ken Burnsโ€ at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Cohen Hall at Keene Public Library, 60 Winter Street, Keene.

Schwab, whose playing appears in Ken Burns documentaries includingย โ€œThe Civil War,ย Baseball,ย Benjamin Franklinโ€ย andย โ€œThe American Revolution,โ€ will perform music from those soundtracks along with other works inspired by Burns. The program will include โ€œAshokan Farewell,โ€ โ€œBe Thou My Vision,โ€ โ€œTenting on the Old Campground,โ€ traditional Celtic tunes, spirituals and ragtime.

Schwab also will discuss Burnsโ€™ collaborative approach to music and how it is used in documentary storytelling.

She has performed at the White House for President Clinton, appeared on PBS with the American Pops Orchestra and recently released the solo album โ€œI Lift My Lampโ€”Illuminations from Immigrant America.โ€
