Archie the Pig made his third annual visit to the Dublin Community Center Valentine’s Day craft party on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Archie visited with local children, community members and students from the Dublin School as they made Valentine’s Day crafts.

Donna Watterson of Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary said when Archie first visited the DubHub, he weighed only 12 pounds, but he’s packed on a few pounds since then.

“Someone just abandoned him and tossed him in a snowbank when he was a baby,” Watterson said. “They had dropped off near a farm, but he wandered away. He would have died if we hadn’t found him.”

“He’s not quite there yet, but we’ll see,” she said.

Monica Laskey, executive director of the DubHub, said Archie enjoys potato prints — potato slices used for printing designs — particularly the leftover potato scraps.

“He didn’t want to get out of the truck this morning. He doesn’t like the snow,” Laskey said. “We had to tempt him with some strudel.”
