Francestown, NH – Helene T. Harbage (Honey), 90, a long-time resident of Francestown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the Greens at Cannondale, in Wilton, Connecticut, after spending the holiday surrounded by family. Helene was born on June 6, 1935, in New London, Connecticut, one of three sisters. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy and soon married the love of her life, Charles F. Harbage, in 1954. Charlie and Helene had two children, Chuck and Pamela. She enjoyed all kinds of family activities, especially those with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was an incredible hostess, chef, and baker. She was proud that her pie baking was recognized in Yankee Magazine. She also treasured her 1780 home in Francestown where she and Charlie moved in 1981 and where she hosted many dinners and parties. Helene worked for years as an orthodontic assistant, a job where her dexterity and attention to detail made her a helpful partner to countless children. She volunteered in numerous ways in Francestown and at All Saints Church in Peterborough. Her grandchildren always enjoyed their yearly visits to Francestown for the Labor Day celebrations.
Helene is survived by her daughter Pamela and son-in-law Paul; her daughter-in-law Rebecca and her husband Beau; her sister Dorothy Briggs; and three grandchildren, Ben Van de Graaf (Mary), Elizabeth Janofsky (Eric), and Ian Harbage (Laura). She greatly enjoyed her seven great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Edith, Samuel, Jaime, Anna, Lucas, and Oliver. Her husband Charles, son Chuck, and sister Marlene Cormier predeceased her.
Helene will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving friend to many. A funeral service will be held at All Saints Church in Peterborough, NH at 11:00 am on January 31, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Music at All Saints Church in Peterborough.
