After several months of construction, work to replace Antrimโ€™s High Street Bridge is nearly done. Work began in July and remains on schedule to finish this month.

The bridge, which crosses Great Brook at the former Goodell Mill pond, had been on the New Hampshire Department of Transportationโ€™s โ€œred listโ€ for replacement. The designation cited corrosion of the metal pipe arch, spalling on the abutments and wingwalls that exposed rebar, and minor settlement and voids of up to three feet in the abutment stonework.

The new bridge is expected to last 75 to 100 years with routine maintenance.
