Debra LeClair, a doctor of psychology and author of “The Common Hours,” led an interactive program on reading, writing, and personal connections to ancestry during the Rotary breakfast meeting at Franklin Pierce University on Nov. 13.
LeClair, a Jaffrey resident, spoke about how her book grew from an interest in her Irish heritage, including a long-standing curiosity about Queen Elizabeth I and a desire to better understand the stories suggested by her own DNA results. She invited attendees to reflect on their relationships to books, storytelling, and family history, prompting a wide-ranging conversation among members.
The presentation encouraged participants to consider how personal and ancestral narratives shape their experiences and creative expression.
