A Greenville man has pleaded guilty to robbing a New Ipswich bank while on federal supervised release.
Eric Lord, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery on Oct. 6, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan and the United States Department of Justice.
U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante has scheduled sentencing for Jan. 12, 2026.
The charges relate to a robbery at the TD Bank in New Ipswich on April 2. At the time, Lord was on federal supervised release. He had previously been convicted in federal court for robbing the same TD Bank in 2014 โ a robbery he committed one day after being paroled on burglary convictions.
According to court documents, Lord entered the bank on April 2, approached the counter, and put down a not saying “8 thousand in 30 seconds or I shoot you where you stand.” According to documents, the teller complied and Lord left with more than $8,000. Immediately following the robbery, the Mascenic School District secured the campuses of its three schools.
Lord was later identified by a New Ipswich police officer based on bank surveillance video.
The bank robbery statute carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000 or twice the gross gain, whichever is greater. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and federal statutes.
The New Ipswich Police Department and FBI led the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander S. Chen is prosecuting the case.
