The PeterboroughPlus unit of the League of Women Voters and Open Democracy will present a screening of the documentary โTomboys! Feisty Girls and Spirited Womenโ on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Peterborough Community Theater, 6 School St., Peterborough. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

This short documentary features interviews with African-American teenager Jay Gillespie; firefighter Tracy Driscoll; lesbian artist Nancy Brooks Brody; and political activist โGranny D.โ The film intercuts their stories with personal photographs and archival footage to celebrate tomboys of all ages.
Filmmakers Julie Akeret and Christian McEwen will join attendees for a Q&A and discussion following the screening.
