The PeterboroughPlus unit of the League of Women Voters and Open Democracy will present a screening of the documentary โ€œTomboys! Feisty Girls and Spirited Womenโ€ on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Peterborough Community Theater, 6 School St., Peterborough. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

This short documentary features interviews with African-American teenager Jay Gillespie; firefighter Tracy Driscoll; lesbian artist Nancy Brooks Brody; and political activist โ€œGranny D.โ€ The film intercuts their stories with personal photographs and archival footage to celebrate tomboys of all ages.

Filmmakers Julie Akeret and Christian McEwen will join attendees for a Q&A and discussion following the screening.
