Rotonda West, FL – On October 27, 2025, Matthew Robert Betourney, age 44, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rotonda West, Florida. Matt was born on February 7, 1981, in Peterborough, NH. He lived in Jaffrey, NH until the age of 13. In 1994 Matt moved to Englewood, FL with his family. He attended LA Ainger and Lemon Bay Highschool. After high school, Matt moved around, living in NH, VT, and SC. His final destination was back in Florida. Matt worked many different jobs throughout his life. He was a meticulous painter and landscaper. He especially loved movies and had a fantastic sense of humor. His family always though he should have been a comedian; he made us laugh with his one-liners and had the fastest comebacks more than anyone we knew. His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas and he always had a special place in his heart for children and dogs.
Matthew is survived by his parents: Brian & Molly Betourney & Patricia LeFleur; sister Ashley Betourney, brothers Aaron Betourney & Curtis (Jillian) Perry; nephews Ethan & Braydon Wills, Logan & Oliver Perry, Kamden Hudson, and Niece Adeline Hudson; his dearest cousin Shyenne Rebstad, and special friend Shanna Brown, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Matt is predeceased by the death of his grandparents Maurice and Lucienne Betourney, Bernie & Stella Heil, John & Dorothy Moore, his aunt Susan Betourney, Unlce David Moore, and stepfather Alan LeFleur.
Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of life for Matt at November 15, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Matt’s parents’ home, 9039 Anita Ave., Englewood, FL 34224. There will be a burial service in Jaffrey, NH in the spring.
