GBS Principal Adam Caragher called the evening “an amazing opportunity to recognize some really outstanding young adults and their achievements” in academics, leadership, character, and service to others.

“The thing that I really love about the National Junior Honor Society is that it acknowledges the amazing things you have all accomplished in such a short time,” he said.

Dr. Maryanne Cullinan, GBS faculty advisor to the NJHS, said, “These students recognized in our new chapter of the NJHS serve as role models for other students. They are also leaders in many student organizations; they serve our school and community in many different activities both in and out of school, including community service. We are very proud of their accomplishments.”

Cullinan added that each student inducted into NJHS for 2025-2026 had a minimum lifetime cumulative GPA of 3.67.

According to Caragher, the Great Brook faculty first discussed creating a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society in the spring.

“Then Dr. Cullinan just ran with it, she volunteered to be the advisor, and she set up our faculty committee and got this rolling. We thought this would be an incredible way to honor the accomplishments of our students, of their hard work and all that they contribute, and we’re just very excited about this,” Caragher said. “And obviously, it connects with what we already have at ConVal, and with the national organization as well.”
