Visitors to downtown Wilton might notice a new work of art on the Wilton Falls building at the entrance to Main Street, a mural painted by artist Cheyenne Renee, inspired by the town logo.

Wilton was selected to participate in Renee’s nation-wide mural project, called “50 in 50.” The project involves painting one mural in a small town in each state, starting in 2022. The project is being filmed for a future documentary.

Cheyenne painted the mural over the course of a week, completing it on Oct. 16. The mural, based on the town logo designed by Wilton artist Gail Hoar, stretches 50 feet high and required the use of a bucket truck to complete.
