Power and wealth destruction

President Trump, through his power and wealth, has demolished the people’s house’s east wing and is replacing it with a grand ballroom, with much gold decor, for parties for rich people and gatherings with foreign dignitaries. Who gave our president all this power? No drawn-out meetings with Congress nor with historical preservationists to discuss this tearing down and replacement.

What rewards do the donners receive when Trump is ‘supposed’ to step out of office in three and a half years? He is again dangling running for a third term, or fourth term. What will he look like in 11 more years? How far will the stumbling on stairs take him.

This is the people’s house, and how many of us have almost a thousand-capacity ballrooms shimmering in gold? For the past 75 years, none of our presidents, including the Republican ones, have done these blatant personal changes to our house. It is time for the president to act like a president and work for the people, not his self-interests.
