Monadnock Community Hospital has donated the RV used during the COVID-19 pandemic for community vaccinations to the Monadnock Area Fire Chiefs Association. The vehicle, which once helped protect public health, will now support regional first responders as a mobile rehabilitation unit at emergency scenes.

The RV played a key role during the pandemic by expanding access to vaccinations. In its new role, it will provide a safe space for first responders to rest and recover, equipped with climate control, seating, water coolers and privacy shelters.

โ€œWhen looking for a meaningful way to repurpose this underused resource, we wanted to continue the spirit of community service it represented during such a pivotal time,โ€ said Cynthia McGuire, MCH president and CEO. โ€œThis RV helped protect our community then, and weโ€™re proud it will now support those who protect us every day.โ€

Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker, representing the Monadnock Area Fire Chiefs Association, said the donation will make a difference in supporting first responders during prolonged emergencies.
