Monadnock Community Hospital has donated the RV used during the COVID-19 pandemic for community vaccinations to the Monadnock Area Fire Chiefs Association. The vehicle, which once helped protect public health, will now support regional first responders as a mobile rehabilitation unit at emergency scenes.
The RV played a key role during the pandemic by expanding access to vaccinations. In its new role, it will provide a safe space for first responders to rest and recover, equipped with climate control, seating, water coolers and privacy shelters.
โWhen looking for a meaningful way to repurpose this underused resource, we wanted to continue the spirit of community service it represented during such a pivotal time,โ said Cynthia McGuire, MCH president and CEO. โThis RV helped protect our community then, and weโre proud it will now support those who protect us every day.โ
Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker, representing the Monadnock Area Fire Chiefs Association, said the donation will make a difference in supporting first responders during prolonged emergencies.
