Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services has announced Karen LaBelle as the 2025 recipient of the Susan G. Ashworth Commitment Award.
LaBelle has been part of HCS for more than 30 years, serving in multiple roles and consistently supporting patients, families and colleagues. Known for her calm presence and willingness to help in any situation, she has earned praise for her kindness, professionalism and ability to stay levelheaded during challenges.
Nominators highlighted her honesty, fairness and compassion, noting that she exemplifies the qualities central to the HCS mission. Her decades of service and dedication make her a deserving recipient of the award.
The Ashworth Commitment Award was established in 2018 to honor Susan G. Ashworth, the former HCS Director of Community Relations. Ashworth launched Meals on Wheels in Cheshire County, united local visiting nurse groups to form HCS and created community staples such as Friendly Meals, City Express, Friendly Bus and the Castle Center. Ashworth was the first recipient of the award that now bears her name.
