The Park Theatre will host the cinema premiere of the high-resolution restoration of Ken Burnsโ Horatioโs Drive: Americaโs First Road Trip on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m.

A VIP reception will take place at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for the screening or $40 for the reception and screening.
The 2003 PBS film, directed by Burns and written and produced by Dayton Duncan, tells the story of Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson, who in 1903 made the first cross-country drive in a 20-horsepower Winton touring car. Jackson and co-driver Sewall Crocker, along with a bulldog named Bud, completed the trip despite a lack of paved roads, gas stations or reliable maps. Using historic photos, letters and cinematography of the route, the documentary captures their 63-day journey.
Duncan will introduce the film and hold a question and answer session afterward.
Tickets are available atย www.theparktheatre.orgย or by calling 603-532-8888.
