Muusic 4UU will present Grove Street at the Sanctuary, 25 Main St., on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m.
The quartet features flutist Chaz Beaulieu, guitarist Eric Blackmer, cellist David Duhon and pianist Lisa Murray. The program highlights original music by composer Tom Febonio, a college classmate of Beaulieu. Each member is well known in the local music scene, and together they perform a range of chamber and folk-inspired works.
Grove Street has recently presented concerts at Bass Hall featuring the music of Irish composer Turlough OโCarolan (1670โ1738) and celebrating the release of their CD The Harp Unstrung, a tribute to OโCarolan. This new program shifts focus to Febonioโs compositions, ranging from folk tunes for flute and whistle to classical chamber works.
The concert is free, with donations requested. CDs will be available for purchase, and a signup sheet will be offered for the groupโs upcoming Febonio CD. The program will run about 75 minutes.
Muusic 4UU concerts take place on the third Saturday of each month and are supported by the Bessie Foundation and RBC Wealth Management. For information, visit muusic4uu.org.
