Hanstock, Hancock’s local music festival, returns to Moose Brook Park in Hancock for a seventh year on Saturday, Sept. 13., from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The festival is an all-day, family-friendly community event. Guests are asked to make a $10 donation to the Hancock Depot Association, which raises money for the preservation of the historic Hancock Depot and builds awareness and support for New Hampshire rail trails.

Donations can be paid at the gate.

“Hanstock is all about great music, but it’s about more than just music — it’s about supporting local art and vendors and building community,” said organizer David Young of the Hancock Depot Association.

Hanstock will host over 40 vendors this year, including local artists, crafters and makers, local farm products, and informational tables from local organizations and groups. The event also includes activities for children hosted by Magzalea Farm Animal Sanctuary and the Cornucopia Project.

“We have every kind of art vendor you can think of, and a lot of local favorites–we’ll have ceramics, jewelry, woodworking, textiles. This year we even have a young guy who makes dinosaurs on his 3D printer,” Young said.

Food trucks include Mama Maria’s Gyros from Keene, and the Depot Association will be selling hot dogs.

This year’s music lineup includes the Ivy Chum Trio from noon to 12:50 p.m., The Bottom Dollars from 1 to 1:50 p.m., Sage & the Tumbleweeds from 2:10 to 3 p.m., Rusty Bearings & the Salty Undercarriage from 3:20 to 4:10 p.m., Eyes of Age from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Dancing Goats from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. and Zagnutt from 7 to 8 p.m.

New to the festival this year is Libations on the Go, a beer tent sponsored by 21 Bar and Grill in Keene. Only adults 21 and over will be permitted in the beer tent area.

“We’re also having a mocktail truck right next to the beer garden which is going to be amazing, so that will be an option for people,” Young said.

The day also features a popular cornhole tournament. Sign-up begins at noon Saturday.

The Depot Association also hosts monthly cabarets at the Hancock Depot on Depot Road in Hancock.

“We’ve been able to do some significant renovations to the Depot thanks to the cabaret and Hanstock fundraisers,” Young said. “People really support the Depot, and we’re grateful for our community.”

Upcoming Cabaret shows include Charlie Chronopolous. For information go to facebook.com/hancockdepotcabaret.
