Over 350 people filled Peterborough Town House on Monday evening to hear two acclaimed voices in climate writing: Bill McKibben and Alan Weisman.

The event featured McKibben, author of “Here Comes the Sun,” sharing his vision of a clean-energy future. Weisman, in “Hope Dies Last,” urged facing hard truths while embracing resilience.

Moderated by Matthew Boulton of the SALT Project, the discussion sparked urgent calls to act with courage and compassion. Local climate groups also provided resources to help attendees take action.

Presented by The Toadstool Bookshop alongside Monadnock Sustainability Hub, Peterborough Renewable Energy and Moms Clean Air Force, the event will be available on Toadstool’s YouTube channel.

In October, The Toadstool Bookshop will host an event featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stephen Greenblatt.
